NEW HOME SALES IN THE SACRAMENTO METROPOLITAN AREA FINISH SLIGHTLY
AHEAD OF 1998 TOTALS
- The 4th Quarter Detached Median Price Reaches a New
High for the
Sacramento Region at $204,450 -
SACRAMENTO - (February 17, 2000) - The Meyers Group (TMG), a leading
provider of new home real estate information, has released its Fourth
Quarter 1999 results for the Sacramento market area. In the Fourth Quarter
of 1999 (mid-October through mid-January), new home sales increased 3.1%
in comparison to the Fourth Quarter of 1998. Overall, reported new home
sales totaled 2,057 units. Year-end overall sales for 1999 totaled 9,046
units, an increase of 0.4% from 1998 when units sold equaled 9,010 units.
According to Steve Dutra, real estate consultant with The Meyers Group,
"1999 was an all-around solid year for new home sales. We anticipate
2000 to increase unit sales by 4%-5%, and prices may start to level later
in the year. New product lines and communities should add to the excitement
and energy."
